Below are pictures from the 2010 Show. The Tsintaosaurus was generously exhibited by Michael & Barbara Sincak, from Pennsylvania. Close to 4200 people attended the show, including about 1600 children.

2012 March Show



Cedar Valley Rocks & Minerals Society holds an annual show the third weekend of March.

The 2012 Show will be held March 17th-18th, 2012, at Hawkeye Downs, Cedar Rapids. "Geodes, Nature's Grab Bags" will be the featured theme. Also featured will be an exhibit of a short-face bear and a stegodon, generously provided by Michael & Barbara Sincak, Treasures of the Earth, from Pennsylvania.

Hours are 8:30am to 6:00pm on Saturday; 9:30am to 5:00pm on Sunday

  • The show includes exhibits, demonstrations, dealers, programs and childrens activities.
  • Children's Activities include: Making dinosaur footprint casts, Hunting for rocks in our famous pebble pit, and identifying fossils at our fossil hunting activity.
  • Other Features: Our popular fluorescent display and programs, special exhibits with rocks, fossils and gems
  • Admission is $2 donation for adults; $1 for students 12-18, and Free for under 12
  • Youth Groups with Leader are Free
